- The proposed senior surveying engineer will be leading and assisting the junior Surveyors, for all technical divisions and departments related to NDC, including the following:
- Leading team/teams of surveyors to their site after giving them all- necessary information on the purpose and extends of the task;
- Prepare assessment and analysis of the site’s particulars, including- those of difficulties that can be encountered to complete the tasks;
- Plans, organizes, and directs work of one or more survey parties engaged in surveying earth's surface to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas and contours lines for construction, mapmaking, land division or other purposes;
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Direct or conduct surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles.
- Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
- Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines and other characteristics of terrain.
- Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
- Plan and conduct topo surveys for dams and canal project and designed to establish baselines, elevations and other geodetic measurements.
- Adjust surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy.
- Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments.
- Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas, using theodolites, levels, total station, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
- Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.
- Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features.
- Conducting and prepare topographical maps of the irrigation sites and irrigation fields as per requirements for design purpose.
- Carry out topographical surveys and setting out of the dams and structures jointly with the contractors’ surveyors as well as independently for Quality Assurances purposes.
- Ensure surveying equipment is well maintained and in good working condition.
- Maintain survey data records and keep track of the contractors’ approved and rejected Requests for Survey.
- Conducts highly complex or sensitive land surveys and resolves difficult technical problems that may be occurred.
- Applying land surveying and engineering principles and techniques to complex technical and professional field and office problems.
- Highly self-motivated individual with a demonstrable ability to work under high pressure, accept responsibility and show initiative, excellent skill in using computer, ability to work long hours when required, and ability to travel remote and unsafe area for surveying of dam and irrigation projects.
- Provide feasibility study, plan, profile and details section with projects mapping for dam and irrigation projects.
- Guide and supervise junior surveyors and prepare monthly survey plans.
