Key responsibilities

• In collaboration with other members of the Compact Management team: identify, develop, implement and maintain regulations, processes, methodologies and systems for the effective management of infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans.
• Implement approved project plans (including the definition of milestones) within tolerances set by the Project Steering Committee
• Integrate sustainability dimensions into the life cycle of a project, including capacity building, social inclusion and equality between men and women, and environmental and economic aspects.
• Manage delivery of required products, take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources, and take corrective action if necessary.
• Prepare, design and review all hydro mechanical part design. Ensure Standards/Norms of quality
  Safety and review specialized sub project design.
• Participate /assist and lead engineering team including draftsmen and preliminary assessment, planning, surveying, formulation, and Hydro mechanical design of irrigation project.
• Familiar with flow measurement technics and instruments.
• Providing drawings for all structures of the hydro mechanical designed projects.
• Preparing of specifications for Hydro mechanical part of Irrigation Project.
• Revision of design Hydro mechanical part for Irrigation projects.
• Prepare Bill of Quantity to reflect the items of work necessary for contracting the work to Bidders.

• Travel Requirements

  • Knowledge of and the ability to travel throughout the subproject location areas is vital to accomplishing the duties for the position.
  • Candidates must be able to travel to all proposed subproject areas.

  Reporting Relationship: Provincial Manager/Head of unit.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications/Experiences, Skills and Abilities required:

• Bachelor degree in Hydro mechanical, hydraulic engineering with 5 years of experiences in related filed. (Preference will be given to Masters)
• Experience in development, data collection and assessment Hydro mechanical part of Irrigation projects required.
• A background in the preparation of mapping for Hydro mechanical part engineering Irrigation project’s needs.
• Ability to use computers and have the knowledge of SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, MS Office and Auto CAD and etc. and ability to use modern survey instruments.
• Familiar with remote sensing.
• Familiar with the project management cycle, supervision and monitoring of the works.
• Experience working with national, international organizations and NGO at least 5 years.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance and lead and guide others
• Ability to supervise other national professional and administrative staff.
• Fluent in Dari and Pashto, ability writing and reading in the English language is preferred.
